The original George Nelson ball clock goes for well over $200. Not wanting to spend that kind of money on a wall clock, this option came up on amazon.com. When I opened the box, I was immediately impressed with this knock-off. Not only does it have a modernistlook for a fraction of the price of an original, but it actually keeps pretty accurate time!
I bought this clock to spice up the decor in my classroom and I absolutely love it. Despite what some other reviews have said, I did find it to be made well and sturdy enough for normal handling. The construction is spindly by nature so I wouldn’t be that rough with it, especially the hands, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing or indicative of poor materials or construction. It is large enough to make a statement but not comically so, and it is so snazzy and cool looking. My students comment on it frequently and think it makes the room much more interesting. So far, I’ve found it keeps good time and it still running on the same battery I put in it several months ago. If you think you might like this clock given the pictures here, I would strongly recommend purchasing it…it’s totally worth it!
I have had this clock for over a year and like it so much that I am on here to buy a second one. I’ll agree with the other review that it is delicate and I could imagine it would be a problem if you bent the hands somehow but I have it up on a wall so that hasn’t been a problem. I had it downstairs originally but once I discovered it is silent, I moved it to the master bathroom. Now I want another one for downstairs.
It looks great, and it works (at least for past few months since our purchase). It really does brighten up our living room which lacked bit of colour. It may not be as sturdy as it can be (the hour/minute arms are a little tender) but at this price, I’ll just buy a new one if it ever breaks.

… is exactly what you get. Make no mistake.. it’s not fastened to some kind of board, it goes on the wall… just the ” skeleton” of it.
